THREE SIMPLE STEPS

How to use Text Cleaner

  1. Paste your list or open a UTF-8 text file.
  2. Choose line cleanup, optional literal replacement, extraction or sorting.
  3. Clean text, review the resulting line count and copy or download the reusable list.
A REPRODUCIBLE CASE

Turn a contact list into three unique lines

5 input lines become 3. First-seen order and the uppercase SALES address are preserved.

What changes—and what stays

Changes run in this order: trim, literal replacement, optional extraction, blank-line removal, exact deduplication, then sorting. Matching is case-sensitive. Extraction finds candidates, not verified addresses.

Practical limits

Up to 1 MiB per input, 80 nested levels and 50,000 structured values. CSV supports 10,000 data rows and 200 columns. JSON comparison returns at most 5,000 differences. UTF-8 files only; large jobs stop after six seconds.

Common questions

Is Find a regular expression?

No. Find and Replace are literal. A period matches an actual period, and every exact occurrence is replaced.

How are lines sorted?

Sorting uses deterministic character order, not locale-aware or numeric sorting. item10 may appear before item2.

Does extraction check whether an email exists?

No. It only finds simple text candidates. Unusual addresses may be missed and URL punctuation may need manual cleanup.
